Jerome began his career as a sign language interpreter after completing the Interpreter Training Program at New River Community College in Dublin, Virginia. A member of Virginia Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (VRID), he earned a level III in both Interpreting and Transliterating from the Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH). Prior to coming to Virginia Tech, Jerome was employed by Montgomery County Public Schools as an interpreter. After coming to Virginia Tech as a sign language interpreter, Jerome trained to be a C-Print captionist and has been both interpreting and captioning for deaf and hard of hearing students at Virginia Tech since that time. Jerome is an active member of the Roanoke Valley Club of the Deaf (RVCD). Currently, Jerome is completing his A.A.S. in American Sign Language-English Interpretation at New River Community College.
