2011 Excellence in Access and Inclusion Awards
Providing Access and Inclusion for persons with disabilities is a shared responsibility across all Virginia Tech campuses. Services for Students with Disabilities wants to formally recognize individuals, departments, and programs for contributing to an inclusive and accessible environment. Please help the SSD office recognize and thank those who go beyond compliance with procedures, and who go the extra mile to make life in the classroom and on campus more accessible and equitable for students, employees, and/or the general public. There are two ways to participate 1) plan to attend the awards reception and 2) nominate an individual, department, or program for recognition.
- Date: Monday, April 25, 2011.
- Location: Torgersen Museum, Torgersen Hall
- Time: 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm (Program begins at 4:30 pm)
Nominations
Nominations can include, but are not limited to: teaching faculty, administrative and professional faculty and staff, research related to disability, outreach, human resources, facilities, technology specialists, student services and programs, and SSD and ADA office staff. Nominations must be made by April 8, 2011

Attend the Reception
Services for Students with Disabilities, with support of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, invites the campus community to the 2011 Excellence in Access and Inclusion awards reception. We will recognize recipients of the Excellence in Access and Inclusion awards, including the new top award, the Sally Bohland Award for Exceptional Leadership in Access and Inclusion.
Reservations are not required, but are strongly encouraged and much appreciated. If you do plan to attend, please email Robyn Hudson at robynhud@vt.edu.
